Ethiopia - European Investment Forum

MEDEF International, in partnership with the European Commission, is pleased to invite you to the first European Investment Forum dedicated to Ethiopia, which will take place on 3 November 2025 in Paris.

This event will bring together over 100 representatives of European companies, development finance institutions, and Ethiopian institutional and business actors to boost investments in four priority sectors:

• the Bishoftu airport project,
• transport, logistics and infrastructure,
• digital, artificial intelligence and telecommunications,
• renewable energy.

Beyond these specific sectors, this conference will also explore cross-cutting issues such as the business climate, PPPs, and the Global Gateway Program.

Co-organized with the European Commission, this conference aims to reinvigorate the economic relationship between Europe and Ethiopia, accelerate business exchanges, and prepare the EU–Ethiopia Conference to be held in Addis Ababa at the end of April 2026.

With a population of 130 million – the second most populous market in Africa – and one of the continent’s fastest-growing economies (averaging over 6% over the past decade), Ethiopia stands out as a powerhouse in East Africa. Driven by an ambitious structural reform program, supported by the IMF and numerous international partners, Ethiopia’s economy is currently experiencing a unique momentum for European investors.

The gradual opening of capital in major state-owned enterprises (telecoms, logistics, energy), the acceleration of industrial and agricultural transformation, and the rise of the digital sector are creating unprecedented opportunities for companies ready to engage.
