La transition politique historique au Soudan a ouvert de nouvelles perspectives pour le pays, où le gouvernement a engagé une série de réformes ambitieuses visant à réintégrer le Soudan au sein de la communauté internationale et à restaurer une dynamique de croissance soutenable. Cet engagement s’est traduit, sur le plan économique, par la signature de partenariats avec le FMI et la Banque mondiale, qui accompagnent les autorités dans la définition d’un nouveau cadre de gouvernance des finances publiques et du secteur financier et l’amélioration du climat des affaires. En parallèle, le retrait du Soudan de la liste américaine des Etats soutenant le terrorisme a levé mi-décembre un obstacle majeur au réengagement des investisseurs internationaux.
A l’invitation du Président de la République, la France accueillera, le 17 mai prochain à Paris, une conférence internationale de chefs d’Etat et de gouvernement en appui à la transition au Soudan.
A cette occasion, le Premier Ministre du Soudan, M. Abdallah HAMDOK et le ministre de l’Economie, des Finances et de la Relance, M. Bruno LE MAIRE, participeront le 17 mai au lancement d’un Forum des Affaires sur le Soudan. Cette séquence d’échanges entre le secteur privé, le secteur public et les institutions internationales permettra de faire le point sur les perspectives économiques et les opportunités d’affaires dans un pays qui, en dépit des difficultés actuelles, dispose d’un réel potentiel économique encore insuffisamment exploité.

The historic political transition in Sudan has opened up new prospects for the country and the government has launched a series of ambitious reforms aimed at re-establishing Sudan’s place in the international community and rebuilding momentum for sustainable growth. Economically, this has been reflected in the signing of partnerships with the IMF and World Bank, which are helping the authorities to draw up a new framework for governing public finance and the financial sector and improving the business environment. Alongside this, Sudan’s removal from the US State Sponsors of Terrorism list in mid-December has lifted a major obstacle to the return of international investors.
On 17 May in Paris, at the invitation of the President of the French Republic, France will host an international conference for Heads of State and Government to support the Sudanese transition.
On that occasion, the Prime Minister of Sudan, Mr. Abdallah HAMDOK, and the French Minister of the Economy, Finance and the Recovery, Mr. Bruno LE MAIRE, will launch a Sudan Business Forum. These exchanges between the private and public sectors and international institutions will help assess economic prospects and business opportunities in a country which, despite its current difficulties, still has real economic potential that remains under-exploited.
